Popcorn Training

Our first popcorn training for the 2024 popcorn sale will be on May 15, 2024.  This training will be for new unit kernals only.  You do not need to attend unless you are new or want to learn more about entering popcorn through the popcorn system.  If you are attending the new unit kernal training please RSVP to jenny.spencer@scouting.org by May 8, 2024.  The training will be at 6:30 pm, but the amount of people attending will determine where we will be having the training.

Popcorn Kickoff

The first commissioned training will be the Popcorn Kickoff on August 8, 2024.  Yes, that is the same night as the Program Kickoff. Only one night out for both events We are changing the commission structure up a bit so please be sure to attend the kickoff on Thursday, August 8.  If you have any questions, please email jenny.spencer@scouting.org.

2024 Popcorn Sale Calendar

  • May 15 – New Unit Kernal Training
  • August 8 – Popcorn Kickoff – 6:30 pm in the Dining Hall
  • August 10Show & Sell Order form due (order must be on council form).  You can email (jenny.spencer@scouting.org) place online on popcorn website or bring to Council Office.
  • August 23Popcorn Distribution by appointment between 3:30 pm and 7:00 pm at Camp Birch in the Dining Hall.
  • August 24Popcorn Distribution by appointment between 8:00 am and 10:00 am at Camp Birch in the Dining Hall.
  • August/September – Conduct individual unit popcorn kickoffs and start selling popcorn.
  • September 27 – Show & Sell Payment due for 4% bonus commission (must pay for ½ of current show & sell invoice).
  • October 27-28Popcorn Returns – Popcorn may be returned at any time during the sale during regular Scout Store hours.  All Popcorn not needed must be returned by October 28, no exceptions. Special return times will be October 27 from 12:00 to 4:00 pm & October 28 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Dining Hall. **Bonus of 2% commission applies if unit returns less than 10% taken
  • October 28Popcorn Take Order Form due – either placed on popcorn website, brought to office, or emailed on council form to Jenny.spencer@scouting.org.
  • October 31 – All popcorn money is due to Council Office – earns 4% bonus commission.
  • November 15 – Popcorn Distribution from 3:30-7 pm by appointment at Camp Birch in the Dining Hall.
  • November 16 – Popcorn Distribution from 8-10 am by appointment at Camp Birch in the Dining Hall.    
  • November 22 – Final day to turn in all prize orders, Free Camp & High Achiever forms!
    • All prize orders must be on Council forms, or you can enter yourself on popcorn website.
    •  Free Camp forms due to Jenny at council office or email Jenny.Spencer@Scouting.org.
    • High Achiever forms due must be on form and accompanied by copies of sales sheets.
    •  Late submissions will not be honored by Tecumseh Council or Campmasters.
    • Prize orders will not be released until the popcorn bill is paid in full.
