The new Cub Scout Handbooks are now available at the Scout Store (with the exception of Webelos and Arrow of Light which are on backorder). The Scout Store is putting together all pre-orders now, and any leftovers are now available for sale at the Scout Store. Lion and Tiger Handbooks are $12.99 and Wolf, Bear, Webelos and Arrow of Light Handbooks are $23.99. Please contact Karen Vance at karen.vance@scouting.org with questions.

Cub Scout Fishing Derby is May 18, 2024 from 9 am to 1 pm at Camp Birch! This event is designed for Cub Scouts and their families to come out and enjoy the lake side activities at Camp Birch. Cubs will be participating in events designed to grow their education of the outdoors. We hope they experience the joy of catching a fish…and maybe win a great prize too! Cost: FREE for all currently registered Tecumseh Council Scouts & Adults; $10 for out-of-council Scouts & Adults; $10 late fee for ALL registrations after May 10, 2024!
Lunch and a patch will be provided to the first 400 people who preregister. All youth must be accompanied by an adult. No pets allowed. Space is limited. Remember to bring your fishing gear!

The Boy Scouts of America offers an online member and unit renewal process. The link below contains several resources including videos, job aids, infographics and FAQs to assist with the smooth and improved renewal processes. All units and members currently registered with the BSA need to complete this process on a yearly basis. Please familiarize yourself with this new process, and pass this information on to all members of your unit. Member Renewal Tools: Beginning March 1, 2024, all members renew using the new “Yearly Membership” process. Renewals open two months before your expiration date. You can find your pending renewal by going to My.Scouting.org then clicking on "Menu" then "My Application" then "My Renewals". Check with your unit before you renew, some units are choosing to process the renewal for the members.

Scouts BSA Troops are invited to join us April 26-28, 2024 in the rugged outdoors of Camp Birch as we embark on a Wilderness Adventure where Patrols will be competing against other Patrols to score the most points possible during a series of outdoor challenges! Patrols and Troops will be responsible for their own meals over the weekend. Cost if registered online by April 15: Tecumseh Council Scout: FREE; Tecumseh Council Adult: FREE; Out-of-Council Scout: $15; Out-of-Council Adult: $15. Late Fee if registered after April 15: $10. Late Fee applies to ALL late registrations! Registration Deadline: April 22.

National Youth Leadership Training is an exciting, action-packed program designed for councils to provide youth members with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home troops and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others. Built on the legacy of past JLT successes, the new NYLT integrates the best of modern leadership theory with the traditional strengths of the Scouting experience. Through activities, presentations, challenges, discussions, and audio-visual support, NYLT participants will be engaged in a unified approach to leadership that will give them the skill and confidence to lead well. Through a wide range of activities, games, and adventures, participants will work and play together as they put into action the best Scouting has to offer.
